About Us

We trade in a variety of ethnographic arts & crafts created by indigenous peoples in a manner consistent with their traditions. We also sell a wide range of incense-making materials, herbs, seeds and natural dyes.

By promoting the cultural heritage and continuity of the traditions of indigenous societies around the world – who are often under immense socio-economic pressure to leave their homes and history behind to sell their labour to the lowest bidder – we (and you) are able to provide them with a viable economic alternative.

We specialise in providing unique, high-quality, authentic ethnographic and visionary/shamanic art, in the hope of enriching global culture while maintaining indigenous traditions. We are committed to the principles of fair trade, and do not sell mass-produced items produced by people working under exploitative conditions in developing countries that are ubiquitous on the western 'exotic' art/craft market.

As a dynamic, progressive company we pursue and maintain the highest possible ethical and environmental standards. We are very much aware of our responsibility to help protect the environment and try to maintain socio-ecological harmony in our rapidly changing biosphere. We aim to maintain carbon neutrality in all aspects of our business, off-setting 100+% of our carbon emissions through planting trees. Additionally, 5% of our profits are donated to charities actively engaged in sustainable rainforest conservation. This website is hosted on entirely carbon neutral servers (actually carbon positive).

If you have any questions or comments please do not hesitate to contact us.
The art and science of incense production is one of the oldest forms of plant alchemy, practised by cultures around the world for millennia. alquemica pallistica ('tree alchemy'), cienci vegetal ('plant science') and ciencia de los palos ('science of trees') are mestizo terms describing aspects of the Amazonian tradition of vegetalismo; another ancient form of plant alchemy that has been a source of inspiration for Amazonian artists for millennia. An older, Quechua term is caspi yachai ('tree wisdom').
